In the picturesque surroundings of Zaandam, a new neighbourhood was created with a nod to the rich Zaan past. With the façade cladding of 70 homes in Zaans Goed, a unique, historically inspired neighbourhood was realised. In this blog post we take a closer look at this special project and WAM Groep’s role in it.
The project
Zaans Goed, located between De Zaanse Strip and the waterway at the Vurehout, comprises 70 homes divided over 10 blocks. The architecture is steeped in typical Zaan façade character, with eternite sidings on the long and end façades. The use of different colours of siding adds to the visual variety and the historic look of the neighbourhood.
The unique character
What makes this project so special is not only its aesthetic value, but also its functional aspects. With 42 homes that have a garden on the water and the playful bridging of height differences, a lively and varied living environment is created. The 50 family homes offer space and comfort with 3 bedrooms on the first floor and a spacious attic, while the 20 starter homes have a smart layout that suits the needs of young residents perfectly.
WAM Groep’s role
